A nurturing yoga workshop in East Sussex for women navigating menopause

Are you seeking a space to slow down, reconnect with your body, and feel truly supported during menopause or perimenopause? The MenoPause Workshop at Sussex Yoga offers exactly that – a gentle, grounded evening experience designed to soothe your nervous system, ease symptoms, and guide you towards balance.

Whether you’re in the early stages of perimenopause, experiencing the full intensity of menopausal changes, or supporting your post-menopause wellbeing, this session offers calm, clarity, and connection.

Why This Workshop?

Menopause can bring powerful physical, mental, and emotional changes. You might notice shifts in sleep, energy levels, mood, body temperature, and confidence. This can feel overwhelming—but you are not alone.

At Sussex Yoga, we believe this life phase deserves care, attention, and support. That’s why we’ve created a new workshop combining breathwork, cooling yoga, gentle strength practices, and a guided meditation designed specifically to support women during menopause.

This 90-minute workshop is designed to help you:

  • Cool the body and calm the mind

  • Gently build strength and stability

  • Reduce feelings of anxiety and overwhelm

  • Reconnect with your body in a safe and positive way

  • Feel supported in a small, welcoming group setting

What to Expect: Workshop Structure

Start time: 6.30 PM - 8PM – Location: Sussex Yoga, Uckfield

Welcome & Informal Chat (10 minutes)
We’ll begin seated with a warm welcome, a cup of herbal tea and light snacks, and a short introduction to menopause, hormones, and why this yoga-based approach can help.

Breathwork Practice (10 minutes)
You’ll be guided through calming breathing techniques to activate the parasympathetic nervous system and cool internal heat—ideal for reducing anxiety, overwhelm, or hot flushes.

Cool & Calm Yoga Flow (30 minutes)
This soothing sequence focuses on floor-based and supported poses, such as Child’s Pose, Reclined Butterfly, and Supported Fish. Each posture has been carefully chosen to calm the nervous system, open the chest and hips, and invite deep relaxation.

Strength-Building Sequence (10 minutes)
Gentle standing poses to support bone density, joint health, and muscular strength—crucial during and after menopause. No weights needed. Modifications available.

Empowering Guided Meditation (20 minutes)
You’ll be led through a calming visualisation focused on self-compassion, renewal, and personal strength. A grounding and empowering way to close the evening.

Why Yoga for Menopause?

As hormones fluctuate, many women experience symptoms like insomnia, hot flushes, brain fog, and mood swings. Yoga can help regulate the nervous system, restore energy, and reconnect you with your changing body.

Practices like breath-led movement, mindful strength work, and meditation support the body and mind holistically, unlike high-intensity workouts, which can often feel draining during this time.

You don’t need to be flexible or experienced in yoga. This workshop is gentle, inclusive, and deeply supportive.

About Your Guide

The workshop is led by Angela Nyman, founder of Sussex Yoga and a certified Menoyoga® Yoga for Menopause Teacher. Having recently completed specialist menopause yoga training, Angela combines evidence-based techniques with warm, inclusive teaching to support women through all phases of menopause.
